vRealize CloudClient 4.3

What’s new?

  • Support for the vRealize Automation 7.2 capability to assign all users of a business group to an entitlement or to delete an inactive entitlement.
  • The new vra catalogitem service unassign command enables you to remove a service from a catalog item.
  • CloudClient’s truststore password can now be set by the user. As a result of this update, users may be prompted to accept certificates that were previously accepted in earlier versions of CloudClient.
  • CloudClient 4.3 runs on Java version 1.8. Java 1.7 is no longer supported.

Release Announcement – vRealize Automation vRA 7.2

While I was away on vacation last week it seems VMware had another exciting round of releasing starting with the Release of vRA 7.2.  Probably the most anticipated feature is the new Azure Endpoint.  Although this is a very exciting feature there are some other very exciting enhancements as well.  Enhancements to the API, container support, installation API, and one of my personal favorites Scale out/scale in.

What’s new?

The vRealize Automation 7.2 release includes resolved issues and the following changes:

 

  • Azure endpoint.
  • Configuration API enhancements.
  • Containers.
  • Enhanced installation API.
  • Enhanced upgrade API.
  • Entitlement enhancements:
    • Add all users.
    • Delete inactive enhancements.
  • Import vcd workloads to import vCloud Director workloads.
  • IPAM Framework expansion to allow vendor plug-ins to support on-demand routed networks.
  • Leap support – API & UI to OpenLDAP support.
  • Migration improvements:
    • Migration now accessible from the installation interface.
  • Scale out/scale in for XaaS objects.
  • New EBS events for blueprint components:
    • Pre- and Post- Event for each blueprint component.
    • Before|After request, Before|After Allocation, and so on.
  • Scale out/scale in for XaaS objects.
  • Selectable Algorithm for On-Demand Load Balancers on the blueprint.

Still running vRA 6.x, then you will be happy to hear vRA 6.2.5 is now GA and boast some great performance improvements.  See blow for more details.

Release Announcement – vRealize Orchestrator 6.0.5

Whew the last few days have been full of new releases and VMware is not done yet.  I’m not going to spoil anything but I will tell you that the release of vRealize Orchestrator 6.0.5 is not the last announcement you will be seeing from me.  I anticipate some other exciting news next week.  FOr now check out what’s new in vRO and stay tuned.

 What’s new?

vRealize Orchestrator 6.0.5 is a patch release that introduces a number of improvements and bug fixes.

  • Enhanced workflow logging, including messages that mark the start and the end of the workflow run. In case of failure, the log captures the workflow ID, the request ID, and the exception.
  • Added ability to run a Debugger in the Orchestrator client when the request is generated by an external system, such as vRealize Automation, the vCenter Web Client, or a REST endpoint.
  • Introduced Spanish locale support for the Orchestrator plug-in for vSphere Web Client.

vRealize Orchestrator 6.0.5 also introduces Control Center, which delivers a more flexible configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting experience. Control Center contains multiple built-in capabilities:

  • Cancel workflow runs
  • vRealize Orchestrator runtime dashboard
